Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
